Chi Chi Macaw grows healthier every day. Since the removal of her cancerous hip joint and leg, she seems happy to be freed from the continual pain. Her new home at the refuge seems to agree with her. She enjoys the food, the non-stop activity, and the frequent attention she gets from Wendy as well as her favorite staff members and volunteers.

Recently, Chi Chi began testing out her mobility, and like any intelligent creature, she’s developed innovative techniques to get where she wants to go. You can share in her progress with this video update:

  1. you are so kind and gentle . these are lucky birds to have such great friends in humans like you ..

the bird with cancer is so pretty and i hope she keeps doing well with no reoccurances..

  2. Just to let everyone know, Chi Chi is doing great since this video. She has a special cage that she moves in and out of at will. She loves to climb on top to perch and observe all the daily action in the Special Needs section where she lives. I’ll try to post another video of her before long.

Thanks for your care and support!
