Ok, that heart-tugging music is killing me ! How cool to see flying parrots ! Can you walk in the cage and have them come to you ? Also, are you on Twitter ? I would love to follow you and have you follow me so I can spread the word.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words of encouragement. We can walk into the Macaw cages, but we aren’t necessarily “welcome” by the residents. We do encourage them to grow back their wild parrot instincts as much as possible.
The cleaners are in the big cages each day. Sometimes a bird will take to a person and want to come in for a closer visit. The Macaws are pretty gentle, but sometimes in the Amazon and Cockatoo enclosures, the cleaners have to watch out for a couple of the “wilder” birds defending their territory. (Check out the “Clean! Clean! Clean!” video for an example.)
We don’t Twitter, but we do have a facebook “cause” page.
From January - 16th to 30th, Canadian recording artists Cindy O'Neil and Sora will donate 10% of net proceeds from each download purchase of their new single Wings In Flight to The World Parrot Refuge. Click here to purchase the single:
