With thanks to Lacey Kapusta (staff supervisor), our current weekday staff includes Lacey Kapusta, Sasha Aubin, Fred Warnock, Robert Warnock, Kevin, Stephanie Martin, Victor McLean, and on weekends, Lacey, Francois, Amiee, Jeanine, and Ed Sandve. We hope to bring you more pictures and stories about our hard-working and dedicated crew soon!

We have jobs for up to 6 students (must be 16 years or older, mature and reliable) for cleaning duties, three hours a day, after 4pm. Contact Wendy Huntbatch if you are up to the challenge of cleaning up after our flocks!
We couldn't care for our hundreds of residents without the help of a dedicated team of trained staff and volunteers. In fact, staff members Corinna (the staff supervisor), David, Miranda and Jost all made the big move with the Refuge from Abbotsford to Coombs. They have all worked with the parrots for years and could not think of life without them. In their words, “working at the World Parrot Refuge is not a job - it's a way of life”. They moved their homes and lives to continue their work with our Refuge family. That is true dedication.

Many of the staff in this photo have moved on, but were instrumental in making the Refuge the great place it is today.

"The World Parrot Refuge is a true sanctuary where parrots live out their lives in a loving, spacious and happy environment under the guidance of extraordinarily caring people. The many visitors destined to pass through the refuge will come to understand that parrots are not toys or trophies, but beings with needs and emotions as real as our own."
– Rosemary Low (author of more than 30 books on parrots)
