Hi Bonnie,

Andy is sponsored, but we have many other birds needing sponsors. I'll be posting a bunch of new pictures in the next day or so. We do have a Scarlet Macaw named Scarletta in need of a sponsor, as well as a Blue and Gold Macaw named Snickers.

Best wishes,
Jane

Andy is a very handsome boy, I have a 15 year old hyacinth male myself, his name is Loki and he is one of the great loves of my life. He is so affectionate when he wants to be and extremely intellegent too.
Over the years I have adopted seven other parrots mostly cocatoos and amazons along with a golden mantled rosella, two budgies and three lovebirds. Needless to say my home is a very noisy and busy place. I have a problem that haunts me every day....I'm 50 years old and worry what will happen to my feathered friends when I pass on, I don't know anyone that I would trust any one of them with. My birds are so spoiled that my home would be a hard one to follow. What can you suggest?

"This is, in a word, a great place and these miraculous creatures deserve no less, but few places can deliver it this well. It is, indeed, 'world class'."

– Stewart Metz (author and Director of the Indonesian Parrot Project), after his visit at the Grand Opening of the Refuge on August 13, 2005.

"The World Parrot Refuge is a true sanctuary where parrots live out their lives in a loving, spacious and happy environment under the guidance of extraordinarily caring people. The many visitors destined to pass through the refuge will come to understand that parrots are not toys or trophies, but beings with needs and emotions as real as our own."

– Rosemary Low (author of more than 30 books on parrots)
